What would be the first thing that will come to my mind when I hear the word KOREA?
Hmmm... Anneong haseyo! Chonun Liliberth imnida! ^_^
The first thing that will come to my mind when I hear the word Korea is the place and the country itself. Honestly speaking, I am a Kpop fan, but if you ask me why I didn't answer "Kpop" as the first thing that will come into my mind, it was because "Kpop" for me, is more than a thing and it is a phenomenon that no one can stop from soaring high. It was a perfect world were you can feel the hidden magic and enchantment of the globe. And as a Kpop fan, I will not deny the fact that I really really want to go to Korea someday. I want to feel the air, the atmosphere, and the fresh bright aura that surrounds the whole place.
There were lots of places that I want to visit around Korea, but one particular place that attracted my inner body and soul is the, "민속촌 (min-sok-chon)".
It was a Korean folk village in the city of Yongin, a city in the Seoul Metropolitan Area in the province of Gyeonggi in South Korea. This place is a certified tourist attraction and was used many times before on some of their traditional kdramas .
Let me tell you three kdramas that had filmed here. First is the famous Dae Jangeum, who pulled 57% viewers in South Korea.
That smiling face of Jangeum, always gives me something bright inside that I can't explain in to words.
Another series that has been filmed here was the never ending love story of King Lee Hwon (Kim Soohyun) and Wol (Gain) in the Kdrama, "The Moon that Embraces the Sun."
Their love story let my eyes shred tears a thousand times. From the beginning of their childhood until they became adults, life didn't fail to give many hindrances on their love.
I know it was just a drama, but I haven't stopped myself from hating the people who made their lives miserable. But then in the end, I felt so relieved that the both of them reunite together despite of the many struggles the writer gave to them. (I won't blame the characters anymore, 'cause they weren't the one who wrote their destiny on this story.)
And lastly, my favorite Kdrama series that was also filmed here was the story of scholars who passed the test in one of the famous university in Korea called "Sungkyunkwan."
"Sungkyunkwan Scandal" is also a historical kdrama series that tells about a girl who was smart and disguised as a boy to be able to enter the university.
Three men eventually got an interest on her and the four of them became the best buddies in the university solving many problems and cases in their government.
This is a funny kseries and I love the way the actors and the actresses portray their roles.
[TRIVIA: Actor Song Joongki who played the role Gu Yung Ha really studied and graduated at Sungkyunkwan University]
Minsokchon really has a big role in Korean scene. This proves how Koreans really treasure and love their traditions. Sustaining and preserving this kind of culture, were just one of the reason why many people nowadays were hooked by the so called "Hallyu Wave" or in my own words, "Korean Magic."
Note: I don't own the pictures and this is my entry to KTO Manila’s MY KOREAN ICON CONTEST. Please like and share on Facebook.
